Web Content Writing

Content for a Web site or electronic article must be clear and deliver the intent of your product or service or solutions to problems. Keywords and keyword phrases allow the reader to scan your content to find the information being sought. Your visitor will be entering those key words and phrases into the search engine browser window when they start searching for what they need.

Your article needs to use these keywords often (at least 3 keywords per 500 words) and relate to the purpose of your Web site and your business. Each of your Web site's pages will have particular keywords and phrases, and links to pages within and without your site.

Writing content for your Web site or Web article must be search engine optimized, but not at the expense of the reader. You may develop the content yourself and have it edited by a freelance writer that thoroughly understands search engine optimization. The J Howard Company can produce it all in less time and for less total cost, resulting in better overall page rankings (such as Google PageRank) for your site.

A good freelance copywriter or journalist that has experience writing content for search engine optimization will develop your content utilizing keywords and phrases that will present your information and messages appropriately. The J Howard Company has years of experience with producing excellent Web content that is search engine optimized, driving targeted traffic through keyword analysis, so you will not have to.

Visitors to your site will appreciate your Web pages for the information offered, regardless of images and slick, or flashy graphics.

Keywords and Keyword Phrases

Here's an experiment you can do to determine how many Google search engine indexes you will need to catch up to your competitors who have a Web presence.

1. At the Google Web site, search for a keyword or keyword phrase in a major search engine, for example, Lawyers in Dallas.

2. Get the URL for the top listings: www.attorneys-dallas.com.

3. Using one URL, type site: and include the keyword used in Step 1. You will see that Lawyers in Dallas site:www.attorneys-dallas.com returned 12 (or more as of this writing) pages in Google, stated right on the page. (You may want to repeat the steps with different URL and note the number of pages returned.)

4. For every page your competitor has, multiply the number by 1.5; this is the approximate amount of indexed pages you will need to surpass that site's indexed postings; for example, 12 pages x 1.5 = 18 new pages.

There are several ways to achieve this, and the J Howard Company can easily assist you.

For more general keywords (geographically not determined), the number of pages will be higher, and for more localized searches or searches of more specific keywords, the number of pages required will be less.

Occasionally Google keyword search results may return results for a number of postings, (say for example 5), but then after submitting 2 indexed pages on a blog or a news article, a press release or other Web posting, a Web site could quickly rise to the top 5. It really depends on how you build your pages' content.
