Social Networking and Business Networking
Social networking is also a form of business networking. Businesses are using their connections to the social networks such as Facebook, Digg, LinkedIn, MySpace and others to link back to their business Web sites, thereby increasing their search engine page rank.
Blog sites are becoming more and more popular, and some businesses include them on their websites while other businesses prefer to write to blogs to create links back to their Web sites.
Choose your topics wisely when posting comments or articles and concentrate on making it conversational.
Tips for Writing Engaging Posts
When writing an opinion, express your own personal views on the particular topic you have chosen. Some people may agree and others probably won't, but that's okay; you want people to respond to you, and hopefully visit your Web site.
Make your readers feel like what you wrote is directed especially at them and encourage them to leave feedback and answers. Use the word, "you," "your," and "yours" whenever possible to make your posting more engaging.
Be sure to ask open ended questions. Open-ended questions are the types that are not answered with a yes or no. Ask others about a personal experience or their opinions about the topic. The better your questions, the more insightful their answers will be.
Above all write with your target audience in mind. People reading your blog probably have a specific need. Your business is in a super-niche. Focus on solving their problems and encourage feedback to contribute to your reputation and your credibility.
Write only the amount required to present your opinions on the topic of discussion. Write enough to encompass all your ideas, but short enough to encourage others to read it in full. Write for the Web: write short paragraphs of two to three sentences, in lengths of 10 words or less, if possible.
Present your information and your website URL where designated, or at the end of your posting.
