Ten questions to ask today about your Web site
1. Is your Web site achieving the results you want?
2. Is your Web site doing the job you expected?
3. Is your Web site working hard enough to produce new leads and generate sales?
4. Do you have a blog or RSS feed to keep current and relevant information on your site?
5. Are there quality links to your site from content-relevant sites?
6. Is your Web site's program code optimized for search engine efficiency?
7. Is the content of your Web site search engine optimized for effective search engine ranking?
8. Is your Web site consistently ranked high among the keyword searches you associate with it?
9. Is your Web site submitted to directories so search engines can locate your business?
10. Would you like to improve your business's Web presence?
So often I have seen one or more items from the list of questions impeding the effectiveness of Web sites and ultimately the businesses behind them. Sometimes all a visitor needs to see are misspelled or misused words in a Web site to anchor an image of unprofessionalism in the mind. When visitors see a misspelled word it's like saying, "We don't care. It's not important. What you think doesn't matter to us."
If the Web site is not properly optimized organically (with relevant content) or virtually (through proper program code) the Internet Web crawlers, spiders, or robots otherwise known as search engine bots, will have difficulty locating, distinguishing, and ranking your Web site where it could easily elevate to. There are other considerations, too.
How to improve your Web site
There are Web designers and there are programmers. The programmers tend to be excellent with program code but generally lack artistic skill. The designers generally excel at beautiful designs but lack important programming knowledge that sets apart the professional sites from the amateur-produced ones. We use both and you can too.
